Container Companies LLC ("Container Companies", "we", "us") sends SMS text messages to drivers and customers as part of our container sales, rental, and delivery operations. This policy describes what messages are sent, how recipients opt in, and how they can opt out at any time.
SMS opt-in is optional and separate from our services
Receiving SMS messages from Container Companies is never a condition of being hired as a driver, purchasing a container, renting a container, or any other service. Recipients may decline SMS and still use every Container Companies service. Anyone who declines SMS receives the same notifications by email or phone call instead.
Who receives SMS messages
Drivers
Drivers who have separately opted in to SMS notifications receive:
- Job assignment notifications (date, location, container details)
- Secure magic-link login codes to access the driver portal
- Pickup and delivery status updates
- Reminders for upcoming jobs
Drivers who decline SMS receive these same notifications by email at the address on file.
Customers
Customers who have separately opted in to SMS notifications receive:
- Payment authorization and receipt confirmations
- Delivery scheduling and status updates
- Account and invoice notifications
Customers who decline SMS receive these same notifications by email at the address on file.
How drivers opt in (verbal consent script)
When a new driver is onboarded, a Container Companies admin contacts the driver by phone and reads the following script verbatim:
“Hi [Driver Name], this is [Admin Name] from Container Companies. As part of getting you set up, I'd like to ask if you'd like to receive your job assignments by text message. The texts will include the date, the address, and a secure link with your full job details. Standard message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. This is completely optional — if you'd rather receive job assignments by email instead, that's fine and won't affect your work with us. Would you like to opt in to SMS job notifications? Please say yes or no.”
If the driver answers yes, the admin records the consent in our database with the driver's name, phone number, the admin's name, the timestamp, and the channel (verbal). Within 24 hours the driver receives a confirmation SMS that reads:
“Container Companies: You're now signed up to receive job notifications. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
If the driver answers no, they are flagged as email-only in our system and receive job assignments by email.
Consent records are retained for the duration of the business relationship plus four years.
How customers opt in
Customers opt in via a separate, unchecked-by-default checkbox on the rental or purchase signing page. The checkbox reads:
“I consent to receive SMS notifications from Container Companies LLC regarding payment confirmations, delivery confirmations, and updates related to my agreement. Message and data rates may apply. I can opt out at any time by replying STOP. This consent is not required to complete my purchase or rental.”
The customer must affirmatively click the checkbox to opt in. The signed agreement records whether the box was checked, the timestamp, and the IP address. Customers who do not opt in still complete their purchase or rental normally and receive notifications by email instead.
Message frequency
Drivers may receive 1–10 messages per week depending on job volume. Customers may receive 1–5 messages per transaction lifecycle. Total volume across all recipients does not exceed 1,000 messages per month. No marketing or promotional messages are sent on this number.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply per your wireless carrier's plan. Container Companies does not charge recipients for SMS messages.
How to opt out
Reply STOP, STOPALL, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPTOUT to any SMS from Container Companies at any time. You will receive a confirmation message and no further messages. Opting out does not affect any other service you receive from Container Companies — you will continue to receive notifications by email.
